In high school my art teacher (who I think took pity on me because my Dad was the school principal, which didn’t exactly make me Regina George), taught me how to oil paint portraits and I’ve never looked back.

Art plays a really important role in my life, I've always loved the way John Updike describes it..

"What art offers is space - a certain breathing room for the spirit."

I never know how to describe my artistic style, it's pretty eclectic, if you can think of an artistic medium (traditional or digital) I’ve probably made some art with it. The art that inspires me is equally eclectic.. whether it was the first time I stumbled upon Albrecht Dürer's Melencolia in an Art History textbook or watching Glen Keane's drawings of the beast becoming a man, I just love the way art makes me feel.

These days I spend a lot of time in Procreate (as opposed to spending a lot of time ‘procreating’ as per the spelling suggestion… to clarify, Procreate is a piece of art software). Though if you’re ever looking for me on a Saturday morning, I’m probably sitting in the corner of a cafe with a moleskine art diary and a sharp 4B pencil. I don’t really ever see my lifelong love affair with pencils and paper ever ending.
