Hi, I'm Emmy. I paint book covers and it all began with Magnolia Parks.
I am the artist behind the official illustrated covers for the Magnolia Parks series by bestselling author Jessa Hastings, or 'Jessa's Version' as they've become known to be since alternative covers have been released. These hand-crafted artworks were created for the sensational (and viral!) Magnolia Parks Universe.
Each of my cover illustrations are designed to capture the emotional depth, chaos, and beauty of the Magnolia Parks universe. From the opulent settings of London’s elite to the intimate moments of heartbreak, jealousy, and wild devotion, my goal was to reflect the layered relationships that readers have come to adore (or hate? there are a lot of feelings).
Inspired by the stylized, fashion-forward aesthetic that defines the series, the artwork combines painted details with a dreamlike quality, echoing the romantic yet messy world of Magnolia, BJ, and their circle: aka 'The Boxset.' Every detail — from the colour palette to the posture of the characters, was chosen to capture the themes of love, obsession, and grief, and the complex beauty of life that run through the books.
These original book covers have become a signature part of the series' visual identity and adorn the beautiful shelves of readers around the world. As an illustrator, it’s been an honour to help bring this iconic world to life through art and see Jessa's artistic vision come to life.
